WHAT IS SHARING, INC.?
A volunteer, tax-exempt, non-profit 501(c)3, organization, certified in 1978, for disabled adults. It is unique because no one receives a salary. SHARING does not discriminate against anyone on the basis of race, creed, religion, gender or national origin.

WHAT IS SHARING'S MISSION?
The purpose of the SHARING INC. is to offer assistance and provide financial support for disabled adults to further their education and their vocational training; to identify growth opportunities and to focus on becoming more independent with a vision of employment. Remembering that they are a person first and their disability is secondary. Together, SHARING & DISABLED, can make a difference, not only for each other but in our society. HOW DID SHARING, INC. BEGIN?
SHARING, INC was founded in 1977 by Dorothy Landvater, author of "DAVID". The book recounts the true story of her Fourth son's catastrophic car accident, his head injuries, and his rehabilitation.
Dorothy realized that many handicapped adults lacked things to do, places to go and feel "accepted" in our society. Therefore, she made an appeal through the New Jersey newspapers asking disabled to respond if they would like to become involved in a new organization for and by disabled.
SHARING INC. became a reality in 1978.
The SHARING LOGO was designed by a volunteer, disabled artist. It is a circle of love with two hands (disabled and non-disabled) reaching out to each other.
